Skilled Migration

A Skilled Worker is any worker who has special skill, training, knowledge which they can then apply to their work. A skilled worker may have attended a college, university or technical school. Alternatively, a skilled worker may have learned their skills on the job. These skills often lead to better outcomes economically. To meet up for the application, the candidates undergoes certain point tests and it is important to qualify for a skilled permanent resident policy.

The migration of skilled workers from developing countries is a persistent trend, and policymakers in both sending and receiving countries must adjust to- and take advantage of- this mobility.

Examples of university educated skilled labor include engineers, scientists, doctors and teachers, while examples of vocationally educated workers include crane operators, CDL truck drivers, machinists, drafters, plumbers, craftsmen, cooks and accountants.

How can I migrate to skilled worker?

If you wish to apply for a Skilled Immigration visa for any countries you need to keep in mind the following. The Skilled Occupations List (SOL) determines which occupations are eligible to apply for permanent residency through the General Skilled Migration program in any countries. The General Skilled Migration program is for skilled individuals or families looking to permanently migrate to any countries, to fill any countries’s skill shortages. Visas within the General Skilled Migration program are points tested and are either independent, State / Territory sponsored, or family-sponsored permanent visas.

Skilled work varies in type (service versus labor), education requirements (apprenticeship versus graduate college) and availability (freelance versus on-call). Each difference are often reflected in titling, opportunity, responsibility and (most significantly) salary.

Applicants must obtain a minimum of 65 points on the point assessment to be eligible to apply for the Skilled Independent visa (Subclass 189). To apply for this visa, an applicant must submit an expression of interest (EOI) and be invited by skill selection. Upon receiving an invitation to apply for this visa, you have 60 days to submit your application. Once the Skilled Independent (Subclass 189) Visa has been granted, the visa holder and accompanying family members are able to live, work and study in any countries as permanent residents.
